As Joëlle and Kevin get ready to welcome baby number two, I thought it about time I blogged this session from when Joëlle was pregnant with Adam, the soon-to-be big brother. It has been such a pleasure to watch this family grow and to document many beautiful moments with them.
I hope you enjoy this Montreal in-studio maternity session. The entire shoot was shot with natural light. It was a good one to get the creative juices flowing. Scroll down to read some answers to frequently asked questions.
Maternity Photography FAQ
When is the best time to get maternity pictures?
The best time to get maternity pictures is during the 7th or 8th month of pregnancy, generally before 35 weeks. The belly is beautiful and round at this point and the expectant mother is still (hopefully!) feeling comfortable. However, if you’re expecting multiples or have a high-risk pregnancy, you may want to consider doing it earlier.
What should I wear?
You should wear what you feel most beautiful and comfortable in. You could wear tight clothing to accentuate your belly or you can go with something looser that flows. Taking some photos in your underwear or a tank top to show your figure during the shoot is also a possibility. I will guide you through poses to ensure that whatever you decide to wear, your maternity shape is focused on.
Do you do Fresh 48 Photo sessions?
Yes! Fresh 48 photography sessions are for new families who want to document their baby’s first few hours of their life. Typically done within the first 24-48 hours. This time is so fleeting and precious and often passes in a blur. It would be my honour to photograph this moment. A Fresh 48 session is a lifestyle photoshoot (not posed). I can come to your home or to the hospital.
